The Emergency Care Foundation receives no funding from CDHB or the governement. The Emergency care Foundation is very grateful for all the doantions which we receive. These donations have led to improved care,purchase of vital equipment and up to date research that is already saving lives. While the Emergency Care Foundation seeks funding from funding bodies such as the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation, these bodies approve only about 10% of the applicaitons they receive, and prefer an emphasis on laboratory based research. As a new organisation, with an emphasis on patient care based research, such funds can be difficult to obtain. As a result the Emergency Care Foundation relies on support from the local community and businesses.
